Islamic Marriage

IHC is state authorized to perform religious marriage ceremonies in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In order to perform an Islamic marriage the following steps are required: 

  1. Obtain a marriage license from any court in the Commonwealth of Virginia, when asked what type of marriage request religious. Please make sure to bring all court documents.

  2. Photo ID's are needed for both the marrying parties, the Wali (Gurdian), and two witnesses. 

  3. The IHC will provide each marrying party with an Islamic marriage certificate for their record.

  4. The fee for the marriage will go towards charity to the Masjid.

  5. The marriage will be conducted at the IHC premises.
