Islamic Marriage (Nikah) Services in Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio

The Islamic Heritage Center (IHC) offers professional Islamic marriage (Nikah) services for Muslims living in Virginia, Maryland, and Ohio. We are state-authorized to conduct Nikah ceremonies in accordance with Shariah (Islamic law) and local state regulations.

Whether you are looking to schedule your Islamic wedding in Virginia or obtain guidance for a Muslim marriage ceremony, IHC provides comprehensive support, including documentation, pre-Nikah consultations, and issuance of official Islamic marriage certificates.

Requirements for an Islamic Marriage (Nikah)

1. Marriage License

Couples must obtain a valid marriage license from any court in the states of:

  • Virginia

  • Maryland

  • Ohio

When applying, request a religious marriage. Bring all original court documents on the day of your Nikah.

2. Required Identification

Valid photo ID is required for:

  • Both marrying parties (the husband-to-be and the wife-to-be), Insha’Allah

  • The Wali (guardian)

  • Two witnesses

3. Pre-Nikah Meeting with the Imam

Both the marrying parties and the Wali must schedule a meeting with the Imam before the Nikah date. This ensures:

  • All forms and documentation are completed

  • Conditions of Nikah are understood

  • Questions regarding the process, Islamic rulings, or Center guidelines are addressed

Note: Failure to schedule this meeting in advance may result in the postponement of the Nikah.

4. Islamic Marriage Certificate

After the Nikah ceremony, IHC provides each spouse with an official Islamic marriage certificate for personal records.

  • Nikah Ceremony Fee: $350

  • Location: The Islamic marriage ceremonies are conducted on the premises of the IHC.
