Palm Tree University
Palm Tree University is dedicated to Islamic studies and Arabic, helping students understand their faith, recognize what is halal and haram, and worship Allah with knowledge. Its mission is grounded in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, according to the understanding of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them.
Through academic and educational programs prepared according to a scholarly methodology, the university aims to develop religious knowledge and the ability to teach it faithfully and responsibly, with attention to good character, the manners of seeking knowledge, and care in conveying information.
The university was founded in 2017 by Sheikh Dr. Nabil Zahr, may Allah have mercy on him, as part of his educational work at the Islamic Heritage Center.
The University's Aims
- Build a foundation in Islam: Understand creed, worship, and Islamic rulings through the Quran and Sunnah.
- Develop jurisprudential understanding and Islamic character: Strengthen understanding of fiqh and its reasoning, alongside Islamic values and conduct.
- Strengthen the connection to the Quran: Emphasize correct recitation, memorization, understanding, and reflection.
- Support Arabic learning: Study the language and its grammar to understand texts and read scholarly works.
- Encourage structured study: Build knowledge gradually and connect questions to their evidence.
- Connect learning with practice and service: Apply knowledge, teach families, and benefit others in matters students have learned and understood well.
- Continuously improve academic programs: Review and develop programs in accordance with quality standards.
- Promote, support, and invest in scholarly research: Direct research toward the community's needs and goals.
- Strengthen moderation in the community: Encourage moderation based on the Quran and Sunnah, avoiding excess and neglect.
