Children are a great blessing, and from the mercy of Islam is that it taught parents how to protect their children with adhkar, du'a, and Islamic ruqyah. The evil eye is real, but parents should not live in constant fear or explain every cry or illness as evil eye or envy.
EvidenceEvidence for Seeking Protection for Children
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek protection for Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn, may Allah be pleased with them, by saying:
I seek protection for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, every poisonous creature, and every harmful eye.
