Comprehensive Duas of the Prophet ﷺ
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
The Prophet ﷺ loved comprehensive supplications: duas that gather great meanings in few words. These duas contain the good of religion, worldly life, and the Hereafter, and they are among the best supplications for a Muslim to memorize and use.
The Virtue of Comprehensive Dua
Aisha رضي الله عنها said:
"كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَحِبُّ الجَوَامِعَ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ، وَيَدَعُ مَا سِوَى ذَلِكَ".The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to prefer comprehensive supplications and leave other than that. Narrated by Abu Dawud; authenticated by scholars.

2Pardon and Well-Being
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ العَفْوَ وَالعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ".O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. Narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah; authenticated by scholars.
3Rectification of Religion, Worldly Life, and Hereafter
"اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي دِينِيَ الَّذِي هُوَ عِصْمَةُ أَمْرِي، وَأَصْلِحْ لِي دُنْيَايَ الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَاشِي، وَأَصْلِحْ لِي آخِرَتِيَ الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَادِي، وَاجْعَلِ الحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِي فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ، وَاجْعَلِ المَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِي مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ".O Allah, rectify for me my religion, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify for me my worldly life, in which is my livelihood; rectify for me my Hereafter, to which is my return; make life an increase for me in every good, and make death a relief for me from every evil. 4Firmness
"يَا مُقَلِّبَ القُلُوبِ، ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ".O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion. Narrated by At-Tirmidhi; authenticated by scholars.
5Help in Worship
"اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ، وَشُكْرِكَ، وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ".O Allah, help me to remember You, thank You, and worship You well. Narrated by Abu Dawud and An-Nasa’i; authenticated by scholars.
6Protection from Worry and Grief
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الهَمِّ وَالحَزَنِ، وَالعَجْزِ وَالكَسَلِ، وَالبُخْلِ وَالجُبْنِ، وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ، وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ".O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, inability and laziness, miserliness and cowardice, the burden of debt, and being overpowered by people. 7Beneficial Knowledge, Pure Provision, and Accepted Deeds
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا".O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provision, and accepted deeds. Narrated by Ibn Majah; authenticated by scholars.
8Well-Being in Body, Hearing, and Sight
"اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي، اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ".O Allah, grant me well-being in my body. 9Protection from the Evil of the Self and Shaytan
"اللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ، عَالِمَ الغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي، وَشَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ".O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Lord and Owner of everything, I bear witness that there is no deity except You. 10Reliance on Allah and Rectification of Affairs
"اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو، فَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ، وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ".O Allah, I hope for Your mercy, so do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye, and rectify all of my affairs. There is no deity except You. Narrated by Abu Dawud; graded hasan by scholars.
11Protection from Loss of Blessings
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ، وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ، وَفُجَاءَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ".O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the disappearance of Your blessing, the change of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that displeases You. Narrated by Muslim.
12Protection from Knowledge That Does Not Benefit
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ، وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ، وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ، وَمِنْ دَعْوَةٍ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا".O Allah, I seek refuge in You from knowledge that does not benefit, a heart that does not humble itself, a soul that is never satisfied, and a supplication that is not answered. Narrated by Muslim.
13Asking for Paradise and Protection from the Fire
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الجَنَّةَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ".O Allah, I ask You for Paradise, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire. Narrated by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah; authenticated by scholars.
14Sayyid al-Istighfar
"اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ".O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no deity except You. You created me and I am Your servant. I remain upon Your covenant and promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. 15Dua Between the Two Prostrations
"رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي، رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي".My Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me. Narrated by Abu Dawud and An-Nasa’i; authenticated by scholars.
"اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَارْحَمْنِي، وَاهْدِنِي، وَاجْبُرْنِي، وَعَافِنِي، وَارْزُقْنِي، وَارْفَعْنِي".O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, mend me, grant me well-being, provide for me, and raise me. Narrated by Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah; graded hasan by scholars.

O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and whatever brings one near to it of speech or deed, and I seek refuge in You from the Fire and whatever brings one near to it of speech or deed, and I ask You to make every decree You decree for me good. 17Dua of Pardon on Laylat al-Qadr
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ، فَاعْفُ عَنِّي".O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me. Narrated by At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah; authenticated by scholars.
18Ease in Difficult Matters
"اللَّهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهُ سَهْلًا، وَأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الحَزْنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلًا".O Allah, nothing is easy except what You make easy, and You make difficulty easy if You will. Narrated by Ibn Hibban; authenticated by scholars.
19Protection from the Grave, Fire, and Trials
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ القَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ المَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ المَحْيَا وَفِتْنَةِ المَمَاتِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ المَأْثَمِ وَالمَغْرَمِ".O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of the False Messiah, from the trials of life and death, and from sin and debt. 20Vast Forgiveness
"اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي وَجَهْلِي، وَإِسْرَافِي فِي أَمْرِي، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي جِدِّي وَهَزْلِي، وَخَطَئِي وَعَمْدِي، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي".O Allah, forgive me my mistakes, my ignorance, my excess in my affairs, and what You know better than me. O Allah, forgive me what I do seriously and jokingly, mistakenly and deliberately, and all of that is with me. Agreed upon.
21Dua of Light
"اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا، وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا، وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي نُورًا، وَعَنْ يَسَارِي نُورًا، وَفَوْقِي نُورًا، وَتَحْتِي نُورًا، وَأَمَامِي نُورًا، وَخَلْفِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ لِي نُورًا".O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my sight, light in my hearing, light on my right, light on my left, light above me, light beneath me, light before me, light behind me, and make light for me. 22Protection from Evil Manners, Deeds, and Desires
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مُنْكَرَاتِ الأَخْلَاقِ، وَالأَعْمَالِ، وَالأَهْوَاءِ".O Allah, I seek refuge in You from evil manners, deeds, and desires. Narrated by At-Tirmidhi; authenticated by scholars.
23Contentment and Blessing
"اللَّهُمَّ قَنِّعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ، وَاخْلُفْ عَلَيَّ كُلَّ غَائِبَةٍ لِي بِخَيْرٍ".O Allah, make me content with what You have provided me, bless it for me, and replace every absent thing for me with good. Narrated by Al-Hakim; graded hasan by some scholars.
24Protection from Poverty, Scarcity, and Humiliation
"اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الفَقْرِ، وَالقِلَّةِ، وَالذِّلَّةِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ".O Allah, I seek refuge in You from poverty, scarcity, and humiliation, and I seek refuge in You from wronging others or being wronged. 25Guidance and Correctness
"اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَسَدِّدْنِي".O Allah, guide me and make me correct. Narrated by Muslim.
26Dua for Healing
"اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ البَأْسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا".O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness. Agreed upon.
27Entrusting Affairs to Allah When Leaving
"بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ".In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no might nor power except with Allah. Narrated by Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi; authenticated by scholars.
How Can a Muslim Memorize These Duas?
- Begin with one dua each week.
- Learn its meaning.
- Repeat it in prayer and private moments.
- Connect each dua to a personal need.
- Teach family and children what is easy from them.
Can a Muslim Make Dua with Other Words?
Yes. A Muslim may ask Allah for whatever good of this world and the Hereafter, as long as it does not contain sin, cutting family ties, or transgression. However, the duas of the Prophet ﷺ are more complete, more comprehensive, and more blessed.
The comprehensive duas of the Prophet ﷺ are among the greatest supplications a Muslim can memorize and use. They are from revelation and Sunnah, gathering the rectification of the heart, religion, worldly life, and Hereafter. A Muslim should hold firmly to them and call upon Allah with presence of heart and certainty.
